HOMEWORK: CHAPTER 9 – DUE 2/8

Evaluate Victor’s psyche:  Why does he run away to the mountains at the end of this chapter?

  1. Victor goes to the mountains "striving to forget the world, his fears, and more than all, himself." He goes there to seperate from the problems of the loss of his brother to a murder. Also, to escape the fact that someone he sees innocent die because of people saying she was the one who killed his brother.

  4. Victor flees to the mountains to be very emo. Forgetting what he has done, hating on himself for what has happened. He is being human and needs to release his emotions and he will probably end up killing himself to attempt to end all his problems.

  6. At the end of this chapter, He hides away in solitude in the mountains. The death of his brother has a major impact. The guilt pervading his well being, seeing an innocent female get death sentence. In addition to the thinking of his creature being held responsible. He thinks of his next step.

The reason why Victor ran away to the mountains is because he needed time to himself to exhale all the grief, depression and sadness that he's holding back of the loss of his brother. As he thinks, Victor plans out his future plans.

@Juanette: I agree, If he doesn't have time to himself, then he would have a major meltdown to the point where he would cause harm amongst the people he loves.

  12. I think Victor runs away to the mountains at the end of this chapter because He's embarrased or ashamed of what his creature has become, my opinion./
