HOMEWORK: CHAPTER 22 – DUE 2/28

Victor tells his father, “A thousand times would I have shed my own blood, drop by drop, to have saved their lives. . .” (184) Do you think that Victor would have truly sacrificed his life for his friends and family? Why or why not?

  1. I think Victor would have sacrificed his life for his friends and family. Why do I think this? Well, because, everytime someone he loves dies, he becomes mournful and doesn't get out of it for a long time. Also, because he knows somehow, there deaths are partically his fault. He created the creature that murders his loved ones.

To be honest, I think I'm going to have to disagree with Mica & Lea . I don't think Victor would TRULY sacrifice his life for his family and friends. Because he would have done so even way before Justine had the death penalty. He would have told them the truth whether the fact that he was scared or not. If he truly would die for his family and friends He'd go out of his way to protect them from his creation. That's just how i see it (:

  4. I think that he would sacrifice his life for his family and friends because being a creator of this monster is piratically his fault. Victor does get very mournful for a long time every a loved of his dies.

I agree with Mica and Lea.

  5. I think Victor would sacrifice his life for his friends and family. His creation killed his family members and he was totally hurt about it. So, it actually shows that he cares for them.

    @ Mica & Lea : True .

  6. Yes, Victor will sacrifice his on life for his family and friends because their his loved ones, whom are a part of his life. The way I see it is that he wants the best for the, their happiness comes first before his. Besides, it's not right if he puts his life first before his family.

@Mica: I agree, it's Victors own fault because he's the one who created the creature, whom is supposed to take full responsibility of it.

  7. He would sacrifice himself for his family member. He'd rather take the blame than live with the consequence or guilt. Who wouldn't sacrafice them selves for family. Family is everything.

    @juanette: I agree with you :)

  9. Honestly this is like a yes and no answer. If Victor would truly sacrifice his life for his friends and family he would've done it since the beginning. He would've stepped up and put and end to his creation. But then again I think he's realizing that he needs to put and end to Frankenstein before anymore of his love ones die.

  11. I think of course he'd sacrifice himself for his family and friends! Especially his loved ones. & everytime he loves someone, they end up dying. It's so wierd. One thing about Victor is he puts others before himself.

@Teddy: I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT ONE! ( :

  12. I believe that he would have sacrificed himself for his family. He loved them that much. He owed them that much. They were all killed by his creation.

@ Juanette: I agree. It is mostly his fault.

Yes, I believe that Victors words renounced true. The depression followed the deaths made my thinking link. In partial thought, it is almost like he, himself, was the murderer, for creating the creature. Taking full resposnibilty in his horrid actions, was a sign of truth to me.

Mica (: I agree with your insights!

  14. I don't think he would really do it! LIKE IF THAT OPPURTUNITY WOULD EVER POP UP, i think he would pass! i mean yes i know he's saying all these things, like shed my blood, yadda yadda.. but if ever that oppurtunity would come...HE would chiken OUT!

-So i DISAGREE with everyone who AGREES!

  15. I'm pretty sure he would do what he said. I mean it is his doing and creation that made his love ones die. He created a creature and caused him to have so much anger that forced him to kill Victor's friends and family. It's also probably the guilt he has that causes him to say it in the first place.

I for sure agree with Juanette

  16. Victor might have wanted to do some negative actions in the past, but I think he would sacrifice his life for his loved ones. Not just because he feels responsible for some of their tragedies, but because before he "wanted to do bad", he really loved his family. I think almost everybody would sacrifice their life for their families.

    I agree with @Juanette & @Teddy.
