Recalling the creature’s encounter with the drowning girl:How does this incident further fuel the creature’s hatred for mankind and need for revenge? How would you feel if you were the creature?
When Frankenstein rescued the drowning girl the guy that was supposedly chasing her or whatever shot him. and he felt hurt and i think he felt like it was his creator's fault. and that's when he wanted to seek revenge on mankind. I think that if i were the creature, i'd probably feel the same way because maybe if he didn't look like he does people would see him differently and treat him differently, and he wouldn't want to seek revenge.
Frankenstein just saved a girl from drowning and in return, got shot from a man who Frankenstein thought the girl was running away from. This fueled his hatred because he was only trying to help the drowning girl. If i was Frakenstein, i would be pretty pissed off because i didn't even know the girl, but i chose to help her.
On my opinion, it was a shocking moment when Frankenstein rescued the girl from drowning. Apparently he felt emotional to the point where he blames his own creator, Victor. If I was the creature, I would seek revenge in my creator because for one, I accomplished an amazing task and second, if he had treated me with respect and trust, then I wouldn't seek revenge within him.
@Cera: I totally agreed on your opinon, great job (:
well the creature just saved the drowning girl and what he gets for saving the girl is a bullet through or in his body. That's what makes the creature hate mankind more.If i was the creature i would feel lots of hatred over mankind.
I was sort of surprised that Frankenstein saved the girl from drowning yet confused about why he got shot. He saved the girl from a man he thought she was running away from and ended up getting shot. If I were Frankenstein i would be way beyond angry !
In the beginning the Creature saw the girl in need of help, so he goes to help her and he actually saves her. Normally when people save or help people out they expect to be respected or at least get a 'Thank You' in return. However when the creature helped the girl out, instead of thanking him she was scared and she ran away just like every one else ever did to him. This made the creature feel like no matter what he does, no one will ever like him. All he wants is a chance to show that he is not bad and means no harm, but all he ever gets is prejudgment and rejection, which lead him to hate man kind.
I would say that the creature did a good jod in saving the girl. But in return she ran away which made frankenstein felt hurt. If i was the creature, and the girl runs away after i rescued her, i'd be really emotionally. It would make me feel the same way as the creature who hates mankind.
@ Brittney : I totally agree with you on seeing revenge because thats what i'll do.
The creature becomes further fueled with hatred because, first of all, he saw a girl drowning and he goes to save her. But what happens to him, for saving someone from drowning? He gets a bullet through him. If I were the creature, I would hate mankind too. Because who wants to get shot, after saving a person from drowning. Come on.
haha! That's so messed up! Frankenstein, not knowing who this girl is, but still intends on saving her...gets shot by a bullet for no reason! I would be so pissed if I just finish saving someone I don't even know & then next thing you know, I get shot by someone else.
Frankenstein saves a drowning girl and gets shot for it the pain is physical so it fuels his hatred and thats what makes him want revenge. If I were the creature I would feel and do the exact same thing.
First of all Frankinstine saved a girl from downing and yet whom he did not know in the first place. But he did a heck of a job of saving the girl. Let along this girl who he saved ran away which in result made frankinsine feel hurt. i personaly would of acted the same way that is soo mean!
Frankenstein saves a girl from drowning and gets a reward from it by getting shot. That first of all would make anyone angry. Then the girl runs from his disgusting appearance and makes him hate mankind. Thus making him have a need for revenge.
Frankenstein saves a girl from drowning and gets shot for doing so. That was very mean of them. Then the girl see's his face and runs because he . is ugly and this makes him very mad
@lea: i agree with lea i wuld be mad if sumone ran away from me if i helped them
This makes the monster hate mankind even more because he was only trying to do something nice. It's like he was being punished for doing an act of kindness. He was shot at for being a good person & the person he rescued didn't exactly thank him for his help. If I was the monster I'd be really mad too.
@Geo some reward, right? that would definitely make anyone mad.
With the kind hearted emotional deed, Rescuing a women, from drowning, the creature was repaid. Not of good needs, but with a shot of terror. The man, who has shot the creature had misconcepted the reasons. Assumptions occured as a misleading thought. If I was to be the creature, My emotions would most likely be as his own, hurt, revenge and hatred would have crossed my mind, due to discrimination towards my affection, and appearance to mankind.
In Chapter 16 Frankenstein saves a girl from drowning despite him not knowing at all who this individual was. Usually when someone saves a person they don't get shot, but in Frankensteins case he got shot for doing a good deed. This is what probably made him confused and mad at mandkind. If I was Frankenstein I would be super mad and probably how he felt. I would be so sad too, because no matter what I do everyone just runs away or is scared of me.
I agree with Teddy, because it was really mean of them to shoot Frankenstein.
